Position Overview: Students Herald is seeking an innovative and experienced Social & Digital Content Manager who will also take on the responsibilities of Media and Content Manager. This role is pivotal in driving our mission to foster a sense of connection and community among international students. As the Social & Digital Content Manager / Media and Content Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing our content strategy, managing our digital presence, and overseeing all media-related activities. We are looking for someone who is adept with the latest software tools, has a strong portfolio of achievements, and can bring fresh ideas to our technology-driven platform.

We are seeking a skilled Social & Digital content guru to join our team at the Education News Paper. In this role, you will work closely with writers and contributors to assist in researching, writing, and editing articles that cover various topics in the field of education. Your contributions will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality content to our readers.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Strategy Development:
    – Develop and implement comprehensive content strategies that align with Students Herald’s mission and goals.
    – Create a content calendar to manage the production and publication of high-quality articles, videos, podcasts, and social media posts.
    – Collaborate with the editorial team to ensure content is engaging, relevant, and reflective of our commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
  • Digital and Social Media Management:
    – Manage Students Herald’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
    – Develop and execute social media campaigns to increase brand awareness, engagement, and follower growth.
    – Monitor social media trends, track performance metrics, and adjust strategies as needed to optimize results.
  • Multimedia Content Creation:
    – Oversee the production of multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, infographics, and interactive media.
    – Utilize the latest software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Canva, and Hootsuite for content creation and management.
    – Ensure all content is visually appealing, informative, and aligns with Students Herald’s brand identity.
  • SEO and Analytics:
    – Implement SEO best practices to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to Students Herald’s website.
    – Use analytics tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and Moz to monitor website performance, user behavior, and content effectiveness.
    – Provide regular reports on content performance and use data-driven insights to refine strategies.
  • Community Engagement and Outreach:
    – Engage with our international student community through digital platforms, live events, and interactive sessions.
    – Respond to inquiries, comments, and feedback from the community to build trust and loyalty.
    – Develop partnerships with influencers, bloggers, and other media outlets to expand our reach and impact.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership:
    – Lead and mentor a team of content creators, social media specialists, and multimedia producers.
    – Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure effective communication within the team.
    – Coordinate with other departments, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to align efforts and achieve common goals.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • A master’s degree is preferred, while is not a pre-requisite.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the education or media industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of digital content, including articles, videos, social media posts, and multimedia projects.
  • Proficiency with content creation and management tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Canva, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, SEMrush, and Moz.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, social media algorithms, and digital marketing trends.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and lead a team of content creators.
